"After missing her first scheduled court date because she had to be hospitalized, a Fort Collins woman accused of sexually assaulting a minor she developed a relationship with at local "furry" gatherings appeared in court for the first time this morning.
Richael Michels, 45, said little during the hearing before Judge Dave Williams, but waived her right to a preliminary hearing within 30 days of her arrest allowing her attorney and prosecutors more time to review evidence.

An arrest affidavit for Michels indicates the two developed their physical relationship while attending the furmeets.
