"When we called Sorin Katt for the interview, we asked to speak with Kevin, his legal first name. He told us we had the wrong number. When we asked to speak with Sorin, however, he responded immediately. Besides talking to us about how he got involved in the furry lifestyle (the "fandom"), Rocky Mountain Fur Con and the fur community at large, Sorin, who is 33, also told us about his dayjob -- s
It's a well known fact that animals are people, too, which is why Morrissey doesn't eat them. Less well known is that some animals are actually people, a rare and fascinating sub-genus of sapiens sapiens known as Furries, which work, play, hunt and mate unseen among the less heteroclite members of their order. In an ongoing effort to observe and categorize these woodland creatures into several d

"On the right hand side of the page you can see the different levels of contribution. They are cumulative. If you give us $300 or more you get to dress up like a furry and be in the movie. Think of "Eyes Wide Shut" with sports mascots. Remember, we are a small independent, so if you do not live in Denver, you'll have to find your own way here to participate."
"Yesterday, the Race for the Cure took over the area near the Pepsi Center, with the total participants estimated at well over 50,000. The Race may be growing more commercial as time goes by, but it remains one of the most positive community events in Denver each year -- and one of the largest. Look for your friends and neighbors in our slideshow of highlights, and keep your eye out for a certain furry friend."

"For some reason, people who like to dress up as giant stuffed animals are often thought of as strange. And it doesn't help that a subset of these "furries" like to have wild animal sex, sometimes even illegal wild animal sex. In May, Alan David Berlin, an aide to a GOP Pennsylvania state senator, was charged with propositioning a fifteen-year-old boy on the Internet for furry sex. And last month, 45-year-old Richael L. Michels of Fort Collins was accused of having sex with a sixteen-year-old boy; police said Michels and the boy met at a furry gathering.
But these recent incidents shou
"A convention in Colorado this weekend is drawing many stares. It's the Rocky Mountain Fur Con in Denver.
Furries are people who wear costumes inspired by animals, anime, and cartoons. Fur Con attendees come from around the country. They include artists, writers, costumers, and everyday fans.
Many say the costumes give them more courage to be outgoing and social."
"Recent TV shows and news reports have given Furries a bad reputation as a sexual group. They says that's not the case and their conventions are rated PG.
Last month a Fort Collins mother who was a Furry was arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old. Richael Michels faces charges of sexual assault on a child.
"We're not all weird, we're not all crazy, we're not creepy, and we're not stalkers. We're not anything like that -- that the outside world likes to think we are," Huskey Pup said."
