A conversation started on Twitter about the fact that there are more and more furry news outlets popping up and why don't we consolidate our efforts about make 1 big site?
For the record, I'm for the idea. The less work for me the better. What's YOUR opinion on this?
I've turned the vote-to-publish quota down to 3 as we haven't seen anything published to the front page in a few weeks. Let's see if this gets a few more links up there.
I created a fan page for furryne.ws on Facebook. This will replace the old-and-stale furryne.ws Facebook app. Become a fan and get published news stories feed into your Facebook page. Jawesome!
I changed the variable to send a link to the front page to 4 votes now. Sorry, but there's be a swarm of content hitting the front page the past couple days so we need slow things up a bit. It may drop back down to 3 if we hit another dry spell again.
Today we've renewed this domain for another two years. Hooray! We've also cleaned things up a bit. The big banner ads are gone so you get more content per page. All we have now is a very modest sidebox space for ads through Project Wonderful and donations via ChipIn. Why run ads and donations? While the argument can be made that simply there's not enough interest for furries to care about those subjects, admittedly we are but a small, representation of furry fandom as a whole.
So I ask you, the visitors of this site, s
A suicidal squirrel caused delays for early voters when it knocked out power for about 800 customers, including the Indian River County Library and Courthouse.
Due to the spike in traffic today, I've increased the number of votes to promote a link on the upcoming news page from 4 to 5. I'll be monitoring this for the next couple weeks to see how things play out.
In other news, welcome to our new visitors. Please enjoy your stay and take the time to visit the news pages and vote on anything you see of interest... or bury anything you don't like. Please also take the time to visit your profile page to upload an avatar and fill out your contact info.
